Itinerary
Day 1
Leave Adelaide for the Clare Valley. Winery visit for lunch in the Flinders Ranges. Straight into the arid zone. Woomera. Bush camp at Lake Hart.
Day 2Wake up with a fire near a salt lake in the desert. Up the Stuart Highway to Coober Pedy, for an opal mine tour, a tour of the town, a kangaroo orphanage and a pizza sunset.
Day 3If we're on time (!) we'll visit The Breakaways for sunrise. After that, it's a long day on the bus, driving 800km into The Northern Territory to get to our camp at Uluru. See the sunset over Uluru and Kata-Tjuta from our camp.
Day 4Sunrise at Uluru, followed by a solo walk around the base, a guided walk, sightseeing, and the cultural center. A break in the day at the pool to relax before dinner and drinks at Uluru sunset.
Day 5Up early to get the sunrise on the Valley of the Winds walk at Kata Tjuta. (My personal favorite). Back to camp for lunch and pack up as we head towards the Geroge Gill Range and Kings Canyon. Sunset from camp at Kings Creek Station.
Day 6Early sunrise walk around the rim of Kings Canyon in Watarrka N.P. A favorite with everyone. Option for a helicopter flight over the range. Lunch at camp. Off towards Alice Springs for a few lessons in bush foods and medicine before arriving at bush camp.
Day 7Wake at bushcamp and head into Alice Springs for a quick coffee before heading towards the stunning gorges, gaps, and chasms in The West MacDonnell Ranges (Tjoritja). Spend the day exploring the ancient riverways and waterholes. Back to Alice Springs to be dropped at your accommodation before meeting for an end-of-tour meal.
Those returning on the bus the next day will be picked up at 7:30 am to drive towards Coober Pedy that night for bush camp.
