Aussie Gin Making Experience

Make your own 500ml bottle of Gin during an intimate evening at Granddad Jack's. As Australia’s very first gin-making experience, first launching in 2019, this distillery experience will introduce you to the gin-making process, as you create your own 500ml bespoke gin, which you can take home and share with friends. Enjoy drinks and dinner, a distillery tour and tastings of Granddad Jack’s core range spirits.

This four-hour experience will guide you as you choose your own botanicals and learn to distill using one of our custom-made 2L copper stills. This distillery experience will introduce you to the gin-making process and teach you how to create your own bespoke 500ml bottle of craft spirit, which you will take home to share (and brag) amongst friends and family.

We'll delve into the history of Gin and the story behind the great Granddad Jack as we take you on a tour of the distillery and provide tastings of our award-winning spirits & liqueurs.

A little bit about Granddad Jack's Craft Distillery...
Built with up-cycled materials, this old surfboard warehouse has been converted to expose a raw, rustic, one-of-a-kind distillery. David & Luke Ridden founded the distillery in memory of David's grandfather and Luke's great-grandfather, Granddad Jack. Each of their award-winning spirits is handcrafted, made from locally or nationally sourced raw materials, and still hand-waxed! Production is on full show to visitors from the distillery cocktail bar, and when inside, you can smell the aromas of the botanicals and whiskey as they seep through the oak barrels surrounding you. 

Granddad Jack's is a family-friendly neighbourhood distillery in the backstreets of Burleigh/Miami and have helped to build the epic craft culture the Gold Coast is renowned for. Just a short 2-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by breweries, cafes, restaurants and great people, you can quickly see why we've Granddad Jack's has been landmarked as a 'must-see' destination on the Gold Coast. Come and see for yourself.

• Exclusivity: This is a private experience, and the distillery will not be open to the public or spectators.
• Participant Limit: To ensure a quality and intimate experience, each class is limited to a maximum of 6 participants. 
• Punctuality: Participants are advised to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may miss parts of the experience, and no adjustments or refunds will be made. 
• Age Restriction: All participants must be 18 years or older. A valid photo ID may be required upon arrival. 
• Responsible Drinking: At Granddad Jack's Distillery, we champion responsible drinking. Our classes are designed to provide an educational experience, and we encourage all attendees to consume alcohol mindfully and responsibly. 
• Transportation: All participants must organise their own transportation to and from the distillery. Given the nature of the experience and the inclusion of alcohol consumption, we strongly advise against driving post-class. Kindly make the necessary arrangements in advance.
