MOSSMAN GORGE DAINTREE EXPERIENCE

Your day begins with convenient pickup from your Cairns City or Cairns Beaches accommodation before travelling north along the spectacular Great Barrier Reef Drive, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal routes.

Our journey takes us into the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas, where we enjoy a relaxed scenic drive through the township, including the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, before taking in the sweeping views from Flagstaff Hill Lookout across Four Mile Beach.

We then continue to the Lower Daintree, where you will enjoy morning tea before boarding a one-hour Daintree River Cruise. This is a wonderful way to experience the World Heritage-listed Daintree region from the water, surrounded by one of the most diverse mangrove ecosystems in the world. Keep watch for native birdlife, reptiles, frogs, snakes, and the elusive saltwater crocodile.

Lunch is enjoyed at Mayi Café at Mossman Gorge, featuring fresh, locally prepared ingredients.

At the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, take time to connect with the culture of the Kuku Yalanji people and explore the local Indigenous art gallery. From here, your Tropic Tours guide will lead you into the ancient rainforest ecosystem of Mossman Gorge, sharing stories of the region’s unique biodiversity, birdlife, flora and fauna, bush foods, and traditional plant uses.

Wander beneath the canopy of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest and, conditions permitting, enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of Mossman Gorge.

On our return journey, we stop at Rex Lookout to take in the afternoon light, ocean views, and cool sea breeze from the Coral Sea before making our way back to your accommodation in Cairns City or the Northern Beaches.
