9.30AM    Your informative and knowledgeable guide will collect you from your Sydney hotel as we commence our private journey of Sydney city and the Eastern Suburbs Region. We begin in the Sydney old town (The Rocks) and CBD (Central Business District) for you to learn about the settling of Sydney, colonial convict history and the modern financially focussed skyscrapers. We visit Macquarie St and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair where some of Sydney’s most historic sites and buildings are located as well as prime views of Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We journey around the southern shores, bays and coves of Sydney Harbour for breath-taking views over one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world. We take a break at Watsons Bay and The Gap with the option for a 15-minute clifftop walk at the entrance of Sydney Harbour – one of the most captivating Panoramic Views in Sydney.

Sydney sheds its suit and tie, ditches the strappy heels and chills out in the eastern suburbs. Beach after golden-sand beach, alternating with sheer sandstone cliffs, are the classic vistas of this beautiful, laid-back and egalitarian stretch of the city.  The most famous of these beaches is Bondi Beach and here we will enjoy a 2 course lunch with one beverage of choice (beer/wine/soft drink) at a local beachfront restaurant and then time for guests to enjoy a stroll along the beach promenade and appreciate Bondi and all of its many unique faces.

Our afternoon is then spent further exploring the Eastern Beaches and Coastline.  Highlights include Tamarama, Bronte, Coogee and Maroubra beaches before making our way to La Perouse overlooking Botany Bay where the explorer, Captain Cook first landed on Australian soil in 1770.  From here it’s on to Centennial Park.  Scratched out of the sand in 1888 in grand Victorian style, Sydney’s biggest park is a rambling 189-hectare expanse full of horse riders, joggers, cyclists and in-line skaters.

The elegant Eastern Suburbs are a band of suburbs that are distinctly well heeled – and in Paddington's case, they're probably Manolo Blahniks. This is still Sydney's fashion and art heartland, full of pretty corners, quality commercial galleries and eye-catching boutiques. Curiously, Paddington's gorgeous Victorian terraces, so desirable nowadays, once formed a desperately poor slum.  Here we have time to wander the tree lined streets and enjoy a late afternoon coffee or refreshment at a local café.  From here we commence our return to the city and your hotel with a drop off approximately 5.00pm.

** North Bondi Fish is our preferred lunch venue open Wednesday – Sunday’s.  For tours travelling Monday/Tuesday an alternative lunch venue will be provided.
