EVENT DETAILS
“Giddy up ladies, grab those cowboy hats. Gents dust off your spurs and polish up those belt buckles. We are off to The Tamworth Country Music Festival - Yeeha”. Travel with us to the Tamworth Country Music Festival for 5 days and four nights of festival fun. You don’t even have to like country music to enjoy this trip - but it helps! The atmosphere of the festival is a whole lot of fun with bucket loads of entertainment to keep you busy.


TRANSIT: pick-up / drop-off from the following locations:

Brisbane – City & Airport

Gold Coast – along the M1 or Airport

Beaudesert

Warwick 

Stanthorpe

Tamworth Airport

Fly in to Brisbane, Gold Coast or Tamworth Airports.

Departing Brisbane/Gold Coast Wednesday Morning and returning late Sunday night.


ACCOMMODATION

Comfortable CAMPING

Own tent supplied including blow up mattress, light & fan. Tents are large enough to accommodation up to 2 people with luggage.  Tents are single occupancy or twin share for partners/friends. Our tents are large enough to stand up in (unless you are a giant. If you are a giant, please ask us for a teepee tent).

You supply your own sleeping bag or bedding linen/blankets.  Stretcher Beds available to hire for additional cost and subject to availability.  


CAMPERVAN/MOTORHOME – There is provision for self-drive campervans. Please read below – space limited.


Country Home Accommodation
5 Bed Country Home - Secure a bed if you prefer not to camp.
Additional cost from $200pp. We have a few locations to choose and the costs may vary. You get picked up and driven around to the event venues from this accommodation and dropped home in the evenings by 10pm.
This accommodation wont last. Secure a booking early.


OUR CAMP SITE

Camp Site will be set up before guest arrival.   Our team sets up and packs down camp whilst you are in transit.

Camp Kitchen and Chill Out Room - The camp site will have its own kitchen where we prepare breakfast and dinner from Thursday morning until Sunday morning. Wednesday night dinner is hosted by your tour leaders at a local venue. Sunday night dinner is at your own cost during the trip back to Brisbane/Gold Coast.

Our Chill Out Room marquee is a place to relax between gigs and utilised at mealtimes. 

There are no campfires allowed on site. The weather is usually too hot for fires anyway.  After dinner we usually head out to a new venue to watch further concerts, or you can relax in the Chill Out Room.

We camp in the middle of town - therefore we are central to all the entertainment and located near the shuttles that transport you to and from the music venues. We offer a shuttle service throughout the event but if for any reason you want to get back to camp on your own you can use the event shuttle service to our campsite. 

MEALS: We supply breakfast and dinner each day in camp. We cook great food and can cater to most dietary needs. Lunch is not provided.  We recommend guests support the local vendors and the community by purchasing lunch each day or bring your own snack like lunches. Lunch purchase can be made from supermarkets, cafes and restaurants in Tamworth and gives you the opportunity to choose a meal of your own liking.

Water – natural spring water will be supplied for drinking throughout the whole trip.

Drinks of a personal nature – you are welcome to bring along your own beverages. You can store cold drinks in our drink’s fridge (you may need to label your items).  Please note: no personal food can be stored in the communal drink’s fridge or in the tour esky. No leftovers are stored.  You will need to bring your own soft sided cooler bag if you would like to store cold food or items. We will supply the ice!


RUN SHEET

- DEPART Brisbane/Gold Coast 7-8AM.  Allow for an 8hr journey with rest stops and lunch.

- LUNCH, Pack your lunch and snacks for the day. We will stop at a lunch venue along the way where you can purchase food.

- ARRIVE Tamworth campsite at approx. 5pm.

- DINNER your tour leaders will host dinner at a local venue on arrival night.

- ENTERTAINMENT, Country Music of course!

Note: The camp kitchen will be operational for meals from Thursday morning (Day 2).

Coffee, Tea, Water always available.


WHAT WILL WE BE DOING IN TAMWORTH?

Listening to Country Music, exploring the many walk up venues, and attending ticketed events (ticketed events additional cost). Drinking, eating good food, talking, wearing our cowboy hats and boots. Enjoying camp festival life.

There is plenty of free entertainment all 5 days however if you are a fan of specific performers, we recommend that you attend one or two ticketed events during the five days. It is recommended to book these in advance to ensure availability. We will transport you in the shuttle to your paid events. 

For popular performers we suggest booking early.  Winner of the Golden Guitar Album and Song of the Year last year was Casey Barnes.  If you like Country Rock, we recommend Casey Barnes. He’s playing on the Wednesday night at the Longyard. There are many other big artists also preforming such as: Lee Kernagan, John Williamson, Kasey Chambers, The Wolfe Brothers, Troy Caser-Daley, Becky Cole, Amber Lawrence etc. Tickets for these events are not included in our trip cost. This gives everyone flexibility to choose what performance you would like to see. Please note that tickets are on sale now and may sell out. Book now! No need to check with us first before booking as long as the performance is in Tamworth during our trip - we will get you there.

Each day we have a set program of locations and performances for the whole group to attend and then people break off the group activities for a while if they are booked in to watch a ticketed concert. In the past this flexibility has worked well.

There is plenty of free entertainment all around the town at pubs and venues, you do not need to attend a ticketed event.

There is also the cavalcade down the main street on Saturday and several popular landmarks to visit like the Hands of Fame and the giant Golden Guitar. 

The whole 5 days we are there it is action packed.


ACCOMMODATION AND AMENITIES

There are two choices for accommodation. The campsite is very central to Tamworth. Amenities such as toilets and showers are located nearby at the campsite. These are share facilities with other campers, therefore don’t forget a pair of thongs in your luggage. The facilities are modern and similar to sports teams change rooms.

Accommodation Options

1. Tent provided by us per person or couple or twin share. These tents you can stand up in and there is plenty of room for one or two people. An air mattress is also supplied.

3. Bring your own Campervan/Motorhome/Dual-Cab Ute with tent on top (Hire the vehicle or your own vehicle)

3. Country home option

Self-drive is only available if you are bringing your own camper vehicle. If you would like to hire a camper, please contact us as we have great deals on campers. Vehicle spaces are limited – please advise if interested. Standard cars are not permitted on this tour (campsite vehicle restrictions) it must be a camper van/motorhome or Dual-Cab Ute/tent on top.


SAFETY

We will carry appropriate safety gear for this trip.

Extensive first aid kit, rescue plan, iperb beacon, UHF two-way radios.

We will supply bulk natural spring water during the trip at base camp.

Please advise us of any medical issues before the trip that we should know about if you need medical attention.


WHAT TO BRING

We will send you a packing list following your booking. Sleeping bag, pillow, sheets, and blanket options. Head Torch. More items will be advised in the What to Bring Message.


MEALS

Dinner will be provided – Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat.

Breakfast will be provided Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun morning

We do not provide lunch. We suggest you sample the festival food for lunch options, pub lunches, local café’s or bring your own.

We serve traditional camping meals and some gourmet type camping meals. You will love the food. Please advise if you have any specific dietary requirements when booking.


TRANSPORT AROUND THE FESTIVAL

There are hop on and hop off transport passes provided by us to you for use with the Festival Express Bus service between the venues, but we will also be helping with transport around the venues as well. If you stay up late past 10pm it may be “get your own way home” if you are not with the group, though often we are still out and about at this time, it will depend on the group. Taxi, Uber are the options after the tour group returns to camp. However the campsite is within walking distance (good walk) of many venues.
